Terms of service

NoteWorks is provided by Strange Digital Group, LLC. Using it means agreeing to what is on this page. It is short on purpose.
Your content is yours
You keep every right you have in what you put into NoteWorks. We hold it so the product can work — store it, back it up, index it for your own search, and send the parts a feature needs to the providers on the subprocessors page. We claim no licence beyond that, and none of it survives your account.
Plans, charges and cancellation
- Paid plans renew on their own schedule until you cancel.
- Cancelling is one click, in the billing portal, at any time. There is no retention flow, no form and nobody to call. It takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for.
- After cancelling, the workspace moves to the Free plan. Nothing is deleted. Notes past the Free plan’s window become read-only, stay searchable, and stay in every export.
- Refunds. Within 30 days of a charge, ask and we refund it, in full, no reason needed. After that we will still look at it. Lifetime purchases are refundable within 30 days.
- AI allowances do not roll over and nothing is ever charged automatically for going over one. If you want more AI in a month, you buy a fixed amount and the price is on the button before you press it.
- We will not raise the price of a plan you are on without telling you before the renewal that charges the new price.
What we will not do
- Read your notes, except where you ask a feature to and it tells you.
- Train a model on your content, or let a provider do it.
- Send email, share, post or delete on your behalf without an explicit action by you.
- Hold your data hostage. Export works on every plan, including Free, including after you cancel.
What we ask of you
- Do not use NoteWorks to break the law or to store material you have no right to hold.
- Recording other people is your responsibility. See recording consent.
- Do not attempt to reach another customer’s workspace. Every query is scoped by the database, so this will fail, and we will treat the attempt as what it is.
Availability, and what happens if we stop
We run NoteWorks on servers we operate and we aim for it to be up. We do not offer an uptime guarantee at this size and will not pretend to. Status and incident history are on the status page. If we ever wind the service down, you will get at least 90 days’ notice and export will keep working for the whole of it.
Liability
NoteWorks is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for anything the law does not permit us to limit.
Ending it
You can delete your account from Settings → Your account at any time, with a grace period in which one click cancels. We may suspend an account that is breaking these terms or endangering other customers, and we will say why.
Changes
Material changes are announced in the app before they take effect. The date at the top is the last time any of this changed.
